How can we tell how well a neural network is emulating human behavior?
This discussion group will focus on the use of neural network models to capture human cognitive abilities. Our session will provide a forum for researchers who use both traditional and contemporary neural network models to understand aspects of human cognition and will provide an opportunity for engagement around broader themes and specific topics of interest to subgroups. In the context of high-profile releases from AI companies touting new successes of deep learning/neural network-based AI systems and ongoing efforts to determine the relevance of these systems for understanding human cognition, our theme this year will be ‘How can we tell how well a neural network is emulating human behavior?’
